My SIM card won’t work now in NZ but did before

Hi my SIM card use to work in New Zealand as Spark mobile , I’ve taken it out and used a NZ SIM card (SKINNY) but since I’ve updated my iPhone and tried to use my Optus Sim it won’t read anymore just says NO SERVICE . Can anybody suggest what I can do to try get it to read ? I need it the number as it gets sent activation codes to it .

I'd recommend that you reset your network settings once your Optus SIM is in the phone. This will then force the phone to look for a suitable network to connect to.

Same thing is happening to me I have reset network settings and it still has no service. Not sure what I should do now

Hi @Marik026, you first need to make sure International Roaming is turned ON. You can confirm this if you have access to the Optus app (via Wi-Fi). Check out this → support page for more info.


If it is turned ON then also make sure Data roaming is turned ON  and Network mode in settings of the phone is set to automatic. If everything seems ON and it is still not working then you are best to speak with our Support team either via the → messaging service or if you have a social media account then please send a PM to Optus on Facebook or a DM on Twitter with the details for further assistance.
