I have never been so compelled to complain about a "service". I have been a loyal Optus customer for many years until today after finding out about this. I don't earn a lot of money, yet I work very hard for it. Although the two separate charges of $13 for the " premium content" seem small, when you have a very tight budget that only allows so much credit for your phone, it is quite disheartening knowing that you now have to go without credit until the next paycheck because it was basically Stolen from you!!!!!! Its daylight thievery and Optus should be ashamed. Seriously considering changing networks!!!!!
Hey @melkco. If you're receiving charges and you're not sure why, it's a good idea to check the service description on your actual bill. This will detail what the charge is for. Bills can be viewed online via your Optus My Account here→ https://www.optus.com.au/customercentre/myaccountlogin. If you’re having trouble locating your bills, further instructions on how to locate them can be found here → http://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/answer/how-to-view-your-online-bills-or-get-reprints?requestTyp...
If after checking your bill you still need assistance with this, we recommend sending a message to our Live Chat team via the My Optus App. If you're unable to use the App for some reason, Live Chat may be reached via this link → http://www.optus.com.au/shop/notices/service-chat
As Dan has previously advised here, if you've received premium SMS charges that you would like to dispute, please ask the Live Chat agent to action the following for you:
- Ask that they set your Premium SMS spend limit to $0.00. This prevents any third party provider from charging your Optus account.
- Ask that they raise a dispute with MIA Sphere Live. We're looking at a contact time-frame of 2-3 working days. Once the refund has been approved, it'll be credited back into your Optus account by the time your next invoice is due to come through.
Did anyone find a way to spend the 5/10/15$ - offered by Optus on some Prepaid Mobile plans - in something usefull? Is there any way to get this money back or spend it on something that is not a scam/ringtone or TV game (I have an iPhone)? Thanks.
Hi all, please do not believe and accept this nonsense. Optus are directly complicit in this scam and it is their problem to sort out. Check your bills and if there are any scam charges in it refuse to pay it until they are removed and a new bill issued. They can chase their partners if they wish but not you. These people are very secretive and hard to contact so don't waste your time, it's Optus issue. I have been scammed for $423.20 and Optus are dead quiet in talking to me so I'm not paying them until they sort it out......
Hi llib I've been scammed as well. Im refusing to pay bills except my plan amount. I've told optus I'm not chasing any third party providers, thats their problem. Optus is complicit in this scam with MIA Live.....Ron66
