Very disappointed to see Oputs has just updated all SIM month-to-month Plans. Previously it allows people to create their own plan to satisfy personal demands like choosing monthly data usage, minutes of international calls and Roaming Data allowance. Unfortunately, the feature has been removed and customers have to pay more but get less benefits. For example: The old plan was $59/mth, 100GB/mth, unlimited calls and text to 35 destinations and 2GB roaming data. But the new plan is $55/mth, unlimited international calls (35 countries), only 80GB/mth and NO Roaming Data. It means you now got 20GB less and no roaming data at all.
You think you can choose bigger plans to get roaming data? Wrong, none of all latest plans has it. It seems that Optus is trying their best effort to kick out more customers. Vxxxxx is much better!

Well, I have definitely read the new plan details via the CIS. $55 compare to the previous $59, $4 cheaper but it means you sacrificed 20GB per month. 100GB is relatively a perfect usage, 80GB ($55) little light but 200GB ($65) too much. Old plan $49/mth, you will get 60GB and unlimited international calls but now you pay $45 to get 20GB only and no international calls at all. The pricing strategy is a disaster!
I am not sure if you are an employee of Optus as I don't understand you keen to see these new plans.
I wish Yes Crowd has the feature to give your reply a thumb down. We are talking about if the pricing is a good deal or not, not about the if the plan's deal is clear. It's no doubt a bad deal of the pricing, no matter the terms and conditions are clear or not. Optus has already clearly stated how much data you will lose, the sacrifice outweighs the dollar amount you paid less. If you see someone robbed a bank, would you judge if the robber has a reasonable explanation behind his action then decide if the robber should be charged?? That's a bad deal and it is a solid fact and I believe more than 90% of customers would be unhappy to see the latest new plans if they are loyal customers to Optus for years like me.
No need to be negative. Looking at your thumbs up it seems you have 8 other people that strenuously agree with you (so positive). Seems vaguely odd that every post you make gets exactly eight - post something more and see if the theory holds. 🐵
As with Optus pricing policy, you can't really control what other people say in response to your posts in a public post. I thought there was some value add in trying to understand why Optus might have chosen the price points it has and why things like roaming have been removed.
Your analogy emphasises my point. Someone breaking the law is subject to a penalty. Optus haven't broken the law. They offer a service for a set price. Of course no one likes a price hike but Optus have built a massive business annoying customers into paying just that bit more knowing that few would leave over it. In the past a lot of that revenue was hidden fees and traps but at least these days its an upfront deal.
FWIW I'd disagree that the pricing is much less value for money. You can pay a third of that with just a few tweaks to how you use the internet. All Telcos have long been upsizing data (i.e. giving it away for free) to slowly educate customers into thinking they need 100Gb+.
BTW @petergdownload the two posts with 8 kudoed & all joined yesterday.... looks sus to me plus the 8 kudos's were all 5 hours ago, not over an extended time period. Even more sus....
