Hopefully, the release of the KEYOne In Australia is not far off and Optus is on board with a 'YES', so that we in the Optus 'Yes Crowd' Community can also have access to the new device under a great Optus plan!
Android Authority has posted a really sharp previous review about the BlackBerry / TCL KEYOne, as well as some new tutorials about the smartphone from BlackBerry that gives some further insights into its features.
Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that it's unlikely that we'll be stocking the KeyOne. I briefly chatted with one of the device managers and the popularity for BB seem too low to warrant stocking this device sadly.
I'll keep an ear to the ground in case there's any other news.
Its a shame that Optus are only interested in Samsung and iPhone. Very narrow business plan.
How's that Oppo phone going eh?
Hope you're well Van. Good to see you floating around the forums.
Hey Clancy, Van & Others,
Yes, I fully concur with your sentiments Clancy! It is a limited business plan for Optus to not offer its customers greater choice, in terms of smartphone device hand sets.
BlackBerry/TCL offers stylish choice and innovation in the smartphone market place. The KEYOne also differentiates itself from all those other slab 'drone-like' Android and iOS smartphone devices out there!
BlackBerry in its recent business licencing partnership with TCL, continues to offer savvy users incredible security, privacy and productivity. The KEYOne also delivers this at a more competitive price point level than the previous first ever BlackBerry Android Priv did.
The Priv, like other innovative BlackBerry handsets like the Passport (with its still amazingly versatile and productive BB10 OS) that preceded it, remains very stylish, productive and secure smartphone handsets. Both also provided users the option to use BlackBerry's amazingly productive physical keyboard form factor!
Optus did at least carry both the Priv and Passport for limited periods. However, it was an immense pity that both devices were not more widely and actively promoted in the Australian market overall - particularly via Optus' retail network outlets - to allow Aussie cutomers to see and feel their qualitative advantages and difference.
Savvy prosumers and consumers need to set aside any biases about BlackBerry and check out the KEYOne once it's officially launched in the Aussie market! Perhaps Optus might then again back innovation, security, privacy and productivity and once again say 'YES', and give the KEYOne a decent go!
And as Clancy also commented - great to see you back on the scene again Van! 🙂
