Issues with international roaming services

Every time this year (2018) I have activated roaming (6-8 time now) I have had issues using it.

I travel frequently to Auckland and San Francisco for work. With roaming activated I can make and received calls, but cannot use data - ever. When this occurs I have rung for advice but could not het it resolved. I have also checked and there are no network outage issues affecting the service. To date I cannot work out the issue or how to solve. Can anyone provide advice on how to solve otherwise it's time to try Vodafone. Thx

Hi @ elephant  - That doesn't sound right. Could you please confirm if you'rte overseas now and also the make and model of your handset?

I'm not overseas at the moment. I use an iphone 7. Would love any help I can get to resolve. Thx

You've tried all the standard troubleshooting i.e. manual overseas carrier selection & a Network reset? 
When are you planning on going overseas next? I just think it’s going to be a little difficult to troubleshoot whilst at home.

I've called twice while having issues from overseas and followed all troubleshooting and spent ages on the phone (not ideal on work trips) but to no avail. Each time the local network was blamed despite no outage or network issues on the local network. No issues with phone calls just data. You can understand I dont really want to wait and troubleshoot on my next trip which is Europe where I will be reliant on data for navigation and transport as they are non english speaking countries. For example you cant order an u

ber without data or get train directions and timetables etc. It would be great to get help and have confidence that I can rely on the service (which I pay for in full every time btw despite it not meeting expectation). Any other suggestions? All advice I have received is to switch to Telstra or Vodaphone if you have roaming needs as no one seems to have any issues with data.

I have only ever accessed roaming on this device, never needed on a previous device.

No problem, you can send me a message here. I'd just need your full name, number and DOB. As Dan mentioned, it might be hard to troubleshoot whilst you're not roaming, I can check everything is provisioned correctly on my end though
