So sorry on our late reply to your post @Graeme750, we've been  really busy lately! I hope that since posting you've been able to get in touch with someone to help out with this? If you are still waiting to update your privacy details you can do this from My account under profile.

Thanks for the reply Aman. I know where to go and do that but the fact is that it won't let you do it.

Hmm @Graeme750 just to confirm you're doing this: Profile>General Marketing> and here you can turn off all marketing. If you're doing this and still not working then please pm me → http://yesopt.us/pmaman your full name, Optus number and date of birth for ID.

Hi Aman, I have followed the links but again (as of right now) all it says is "something went wrong" and it's been doing that for some days now. I'm not the only one having issues with this, as I'm sure you're aware.

@Graeme750 Apologies for the issues, we'll need someone to take care of it from our end. Feel free to send me a private message with phone number, full name and DOB so we can check it out.

Re: How to opt out of having my anonymous data shared with 3rd parties

Its not actually hard to find where to do it, although its harder than it should for sure. The trouble is that when you do find it, it gives you a message that says there's a problem at their end and you can't do it.

After a week or so now, I've been going through an Optus Moderator (they responded to my posts on here) and I think its finally getting somewhere.

Hang in there and don't give up...............

Thanks Graeme, I found 'something' and I said to turn something off, so not sure what it was, probably the wrong thing as it didn't actually say it was related to privacy, so don't know if I did it or not - this is just sooo bad - I don't think most of us are stupid people, but clearly that is how Optus is treating us!! Am not terribly impressed at all - if I can't work this out, I will not be renewing my contract with them - I don't approve of deliberate attempts to fool the public - it is not necessary, or else their IT people really have lost touch with those of us who are not IT specialists or like to stay on a computer for hours looking for things - thanks for your comment, will continue to see if I can find this bloody thing
