Early termination charge

Good morning. I have woken up to a disturbing Optus bill for a mobile number that we pitted from Optus to Amaysim last month. We physically went in store at Optus Caloundra and did what we were advised and were promised we would no have any payment penalties due to not being in contract. I now have a $224 bill to pay as I have been charged even though we followed the Optus workers instruction to wait a full long before we proceed. We actually waited a couple of months to port. How do I remove this fee?
