Digital driver license is being refused in store

I went to Optus store today and would like to swap my eSim to physical sim card due to reception constantly dropped out issue. The stuff asked me for ID, and I didn't have my wallet with me except phone. She told me Optus had policy not accept DDL for some reasons. I can't find any public information on Optus website, weird. 

 

Is it store specific thing?

Doesn't seem unusual to have the digital license refused still apparently

You seem to need special equipment to verify it and a lot of places don't have it yet.

I'd suggest getting it accepted is probably the exception rather than the norm

I believe the ServiceNSW app can verify the licence (maybe that's a new feature since you posted).

Good to know, however the education hurdle still exists. Person walls into a bar. Shows digital ID. Explains the bartender just needs to download an app. App says verified. Bartender wonders about app.

We’re only discussing Optus stores here. I’m sure their staff are familiar with phones and apps.

I thought I'd leave an update here in case anyone comes across this thread.

We've updated our ID requirements and we now accept digital drivers licenses.
