Device Credit & Upgrading Handset

I'd like to upgrade my handset and keep my current one as a spare. I currently pay $50 per month for my current handset and receive $30 device credit. If I continue on an optus plan, will they honour the device credit for the payout? e.g 3 payments left: payout of $150 (before device credit amount) or $60 (after device credit amount). Thank you

Re: Device Credit & Upgrading Handset

Not 100% sure what you're asking here. You are looking to cancel the current plan and pay out the last 3 months as needed? If you do this then Optus will remove any device credit they provide (they only provide it because you are also on a plan). So you will owe the full remaining amount - $150. You can call them and ask for an exact payout figure any time.

But talk to a sales person. You may be able to get them to agree to sign up to a new phone plan and they can waive some or all of the cancellation fee (you will always have to pay out the remaining money owed on the device though).
