Contract

So I finished my phone contract in April I just went and upgraded in July but now there saying I need to pay my phone out even though I had finished my contracted. I even went into the store and asked did I own my phone so that I can start a new phone and plan up they said I fully owned my phone but now I’ve been charged to pay my old phone out. Someone help

Also never had this problem with my other phones I’ve had from Optus.

If you were on a "My Plan Flex" plan then that's a lease plan.

I suspect you were on a leased plan as others have said. Optus stores can be a bit hit and miss with reliable info. I suggest you contact Optus directly (Twitter or Facebook) and ask them what the plan was. If it is leased you should have the option of either returning it in good condition and owing nothing or paying the residule payout.
