Content Services

OK so got my monthly account today with $17.97 worth of "content services" from 1800 767 584. Called Optus to try to get to the bottom of this, and all they can do is refer me to the website and change settings - BUT THERE IS NO SETTINGS BUTTON!?!?!

Called again to try to talk to a real person - nope - just sent through to the website again!????!!

So there is no way to find out what this sham is all about, there is no way to claim a refund, and MORE IMPORTANTLY OPTUS DOES NOT OFFER A WAY TO STOP THESE CHARGES - for whatever it is.

 

So, my options now are to cancel Optus - which I really hesitate to do - go to the Ombudsman, or just accept that my provider is powerless to stop intrusions on my private phone.

I will sleep on it tonight to decide which option it best. Blah!

If you can't get into the My Account portal to change the premium service spend to zero then I would suggest you jump onto the live chat link below and ask support to do it for you. You could ask for a refund at the same time if you wish. The second link below has a full explanation on what these charges are and how to avoid them in the future.
