Can't unlock phone

Extreme difficulty in unlocking my prepaid samsung galaxy A30 despite being told at purchase it was unlocked. Now travelling in NewZealand and looking to use a NZ network and unable to use new sim. Customer service have requested and unlock code but may take up to 10 working days. Online, I attempted to unlock using the online form with my IMEI and it said the phone was not locked.

Hi @Edawkins,


All Prepaid handsets purchased outright from Optus or an authorised retailer are Network locked. 


We do have a database which stores unlock codes against the IMEI of handsets sold through Optus. If the unlock code isn't readily available, we'll need to reach out to the manufacturer and request a master unlock code.


There's a turnaround time of 10 business days (however, there's every chance that'll it come through before then).
