I’m a new Optus customer and I have a question about my iPhone data breakdown.
I noticed that BitTorrent is no. 4 in the breakdown, using approx 7% of my data. However, I have never used BitTorrent or any other torrenting site/app.
Do other apps or sites use BitTorrent to transfer data, that I am not aware of?
Sounds a bit strange.
Are you looking at the Optus App data usage breakdown or the Apple settings usage breakdown?
Check the one you're not using to see if it says anything different.
Thanks for your reply, Peter. I’m looking at the Optus app data breakdown.
When I look at the mobile data for apps in my phone’s settings, there is nothing unusual. I have mobile data turned off for most of my apps, and just switch them on as needed.
I suspect its a false positive. Optus categorise data traffic as they do.
If you really want to figure it out. Reset the phone usage to nil and note the Optus stats. Then check back in a week and see if a phone usgae stat correcponds to the 'bittorent' usage.
