not able to access certain website

coolguy000

I work remote from home with most of the time requiring me to connect work resource like webex.com. I'm connected to the internet via Optus Cable Broadband.

Today the 18 June 2019, I’m NOT able to login to webex.com for work and I have no problem running speedtest or access google.com. I’m not even able to ping webex.com or other work related website. Hard reset the modem did not do any good and I called Optus technical support. They did their usual test and said no problem with their end. The technical support gave a number to contact their "home premium support" with is chargeable per session at $99. This is not helping!

Connecting via my Telstra 4G dongle is not a problem and the DNS server that I used is Google’s 8.8.8.8. Can someone from Optus check why is this issue happening? I work in the IT industry and I’m knowledgeable in networking. Don’t keep telling me the issue is on my end.

Try 1.1.1.1 for DNS and flush your DNS cache on your PC.

the DNS cache was flushed but it didnt do any good. i was able to log into a private VPN and everything worked there. the optus outage might have been for a couple of hours. cheers
