Re: new router for cable interent

Is there a marginal difference or significant difference between the Routers in speedtest.net results? Outcomes can vary significantly depending on your device, modem link speed, test server selected and time of day, so if marginal, you may not have any worries. The Netgear R7000P has a superior technical credentials in all aspects to the Sagemcom which should provide enhanced coverage throughout your residence, perhaps explaining why streaming TV services and device responses appear to be more robust and loading faster.

Have you enabled Dynamic Quality of Service in the Router for Games and Streaming - if operating at the same time, this provides priority assignment of available bandwidth to Games and Steaming devices over any PC or other connected device - this may also appear to slow down your connection to the Internet from PCs if QoS is active. The QoS Page also has a speedtest function which tests the speed from the Modem to your Internet service, which may be show more accurate results than your speedtest.net from your device to the Internet. The Sagemcom modem also shows you a snapshot of the link speed of the modem.
