You could try changing the 2.4Ghz wifi channel. Maybe your neighour is blocking the one you are on.
The Nirsoft wifi sniffer will tell you what's going on.

2.4Ghz will likely be already switched on, but you get to choose 16 channels it can transmit on. The channel it has been default set to may be a problem in your house.
