Why is optus ping rate so much worse than iinets

I just switched over to optus from iinets naked adsl service 2 days ago and am now finding my ping is 2x as much as when I was with iinet when using programs over the internet.  It is now impossible for more than 1 user to access the internet at a time.  I seriously regret ever switching to optus.  Any Ideas on cause or is optus just *moderated*.

So what is the ping you are getting? 50? 100? 200?

Generally ping only becomes important while gaming. Surfing the internet isn't much affected.

When does the NBN arrive at your house?

240 ping when I used to get 64 ping with iinet.  Surfing is also affected as load times are insanely long for webpages.  If more than one person uses the internet at the same time web pages wont even load.

Took your time Smiley Happy

And the NBN situation? Have you tried the NBN checker?

What are speedtests saying you are getting (speed wise)?
