Speed issues & constant drop outs

I've been perservering with Optus network issues (slow speed and constant drop outs) for many months now, but lately it has been excruciatingly painful. I work from home, and today I haven't even managed to download an Excel file to use for a meeting. I keep getting unexpected network issues error messages so I've given up. I'll pack up and drive to the office.

 

Speedtest tells me that my max download speed is 1 Mbps & upload speed of 0.6 Mbps. Surely things can be improved?

What kind of connection? 

What modem/router are you using?

How are you connecting to said router?

What kind of connection?

ADSL2+

 

What modem/router are you using?

We're using a Sagemcom modem that was provided to us by Optus 2 years ago when we first connected.

 

How are you connecting to said router?

via Wi-Fi
