Hi. Recently got the cable upgrade speed pack, which says i will have speeds between 30-100mbps. Everytime i use speedtest.net to test speeds it starts at around 12mbps and goes up to 50mbps, evertime, like the network knows its being tested so spikes just for the test. So I tried other speed tests and tested on my Ps4, they all have my speed being from 1-17mbps. I download updates on my ps4 which should take under an hour (8GB) but go for 5-10 hours. My ps4 is connected via ethernet cable so should be the fastest possible speed. Before i got the speed pack these are the speeds i had, am i wasting an extra $20 per month on the speed pack? I have called support and went through the mandatory reset modem, turn modem off for 30 secs etc etc.
I have often read of people paying for the speed pack and not getting any better speeds. If the issue is congestion related or happening during peak times then you might be wasting your money. What did Optus support say about it?
If you're ever able to achieve more than 30mbps, the speed pack will be enabled correctly and there could be a network issue that needs investigating. Jump into Live Chat with Tech Support and they will run some tests to see what could be causing this.
