Re: SLOW SPEEDS Driving me nuts

Sometimes speed can go up if you change company. However ADSL speed is related to line length and how corroded the line is.

Re: SLOW SPEEDS Driving me nuts

Telstra may own the copper in areas not NBN. They are more likely to look at copper if you are a customer.

However, you need to figure out distance from exchange, and see if it's reasonable.

Another thing you can do it work out whether Optus Home Wireless or Vivid could work. You need to first test Optus 4G performance in your area, using a month to month 4G plan.

https://www.optus.com.au/shop/broadband/mobile-broadband/data-sim-card?90-plan&SID=con:omb:subnav:mb...

Really, you are looking for clues as to whether their 2300Mhz band will be congested. If you can't get onto it, you will end up with speed the same as what you have. 5/1. If it's good, you get 12/1

Optus were dishing out 200GB with Netflix last month, but don't hold your breath for it to come back.

You can quit these plans quickly if the 4G is bad in your area, but you need to buy an escalting series of modems to work out what your chances are. Typically you start at the bottom with the $45 MF920V from Target. Then you move to a second hand E5186, or AC800

Check out towers in your area - what bands do they have

Also, there is OVO prepaid 150GB
