I recently installed a VPN (private Internet Access) on my mac. I use the Outlook client for email.
Since installing the VPN, I can still receive emails OK but outgoing emails fail. i need to disconnect from VPN and resend.
using mail.optusnet.com.au and receiving on port 110 and sending on port 25.
Any advice on settings please?

Yes thanks - I should have added to my original post that I had tried that as well..... I could see it making two connections to Optus - but it still failed on sending

Have you checked your IP to see where the VPN is routing? If its outside Australia I don't think it will ever work.

I have tried Melbourne and Sydney.
And I have called VPN supplier and they confirmed mail.optusnet.com was on their whitelist

I can appreciate the VPN provider has whitelisted Optus but it's Optus that needs to allow the VPN provider I would say. The link below might be an option.
