Getting around 2mbs speed on cable connection last few days.
rebooted numerous times
checked speed on lan devices as well as cable
No changes at all on my end
recently had Optus nbn installers on street have they dislodged something?
what can I do?
I am 2 episodes of GOT behind and Someone must pay!
Solved! Solved: Go to Solution.
Spoke with Optus and there is congestion in my area and nothing Can be done, no eta. Told to disconnect devices etc.
So Optus oversubscribe my area and avoid capacity upgrades to same costs and I am left with speed 15 times less than I paid for.
Assume me this is due to Optus not wanting to spend money on their network when NBN is coming and running it down. That’s fine but not when I am still paying top $ for the service.
Sounds like the ombudsman needs to look at this and trace together multiple complaints from customers as Optus are not advertising service degradation on their website and trying to make customers believe it is an isolated issue to individual connections.
Unfortunately all the TIO will do is help you out of your contract if you are on one. I would suggest making a complaint before you go down that path.
I am located in Sydney Gymea. Still 2mbs speed today.
Has still not been resolved bad since last Friday.. something has changed on Optus end.
Coincidence that NBN installing in my street right now, expect they bumped something but Optus won’t send a technician just told me I should accept the speed as normal congestion in my area.
