I am moving interstate to Brisbane and want to apply for a new Optus NBN bundle and need a new Brisbane local phone number. Do Optus allocate new numbers from conventional geographic/local exchange number ranges or do they generally have generic VOIP numbers that look different to the old Telstra prefixes?
If the numbers allocated are from weird/unrecognisable ranges I might connect to Telstra first then port over.
Hey there, the VoIP number pool would be from what's available within the local exchange.
