Re: New Optus supplied modem - Sagemcom 5366TN

@reubot I'm not having any problems with the new firmware (2023) but I did notice I one difference. Before the update I had Wi-Fi disabled and after the update the Wi-Fi was turned back on. All other configuration changes remained as set.

Re: New Optus supplied modem - Sagemcom 5366TN

@ice in my case it automatically came down the line and caused the 5366 to reboot and all good apart from turning the Wi-Fi back on but no big deal. On HFC and for my money Optus is the best. Any problems I have had have ALL been NBN related and not Optus or even something I have done myself. My only disappointment in the 5366 is the lack of loopback (hair pinning) but that's another story and certainly not a show stopper.

I too have this problem. I've spent a number of excruciating hours on the Optus app Chat support about it and got nowhere - they didn't even understand the problem.

What can be done about this?

All the updates at the moment are staggered and can't be forced. Normally you can force an update be rebooting the router via the maintenance menu. I tried the force method and it didn't work for me, but I did get the update the following day.

Note that as you are no longer on the Optus network you may not even be able to get the upgrade as people have reported in the past that they couldn't get updates when connected to other RSP's.

That's targeted for the next release. No word on when that will be though.

Re: New Optus supplied modem - Sagemcom 5366TN

@YetAnotherAcc I look forward to loopback and my shepherding set up that keeps Optus happy.

In addition to what I said about the turning on of Wi-Fi I should add that this is not just when the firmware updates but also if the device is powered off the disabled setting does not hold when it is powered back on. Even if you don't power down and for some reason to decide to reload saved configuration setting the W-Fi turns back on. ALL other settings stored and saved are restored as set and save and it is ONLY the Wi-Fi that resets. But again it is an annoyance but not a show stopper.

Re: New Optus supplied modem - Sagemcom 5366TN

@YetAnotherAcc Wi-Fi problem sorted with a call to support. It appears the method I was using to turn off Wi-Fi no longer works but the alternative procedure holds and poses no issues.
