NO INTERNET AFTER RECEIVING TELSTRA SCAM CALL

I would like someone to explain how I receive a Telstra scam call from a number that is not  connected and no 30secs later I lose all internet?  I rang Optus and they said it was only me but my neighbour over the road has lost hers as well so that tells me the Optus has been hacked ? How can someone get into a database and or be able to ping the s**t out of a server surly our telcos have  measures in place for this type of stuff. The number was 02 65478954

Re: NO INTERNET AFTER RECEIVING TELSTRA SCAM CALL

There is such a thing as coincidence.

Scam calls made many times a day to many households. Unless you installed some software at their suggestion then you have nothing to worry about.  Regardless scammers are after access to your PC and financial details (not to shut down your suburbs internet)

I suggest you leave aside the spam call and start with the assumption your internet is down. This could be some equipment issue in your home or possibly Optus is having an outage - have you typed your postcode into the Optus Outage screen?

Regards
