Why?? Is it so damn hard to contact optus. My internet has been so so so slow now for that last couple of years - noone will fix it and I have been trying for months. At first I didn't care so much because I was just using it here and there but now that I am actually needing it I have realised just HOW slow it is. It is supposed to be up to 30mbps but its 1.8. This is false advertising. I've made a complainst to the ACCC and I suggest that everyone else does as well. I'm sick of this company ripping people off.

Are you on the NBN yet? Is the NBN available in your area?
Are you on Optus cable or ADSL?
Is it 1.8 Mbps max all the time or just a certain times of the day?
Are you testing over wifi or a wired connection?
