Modems for Wireless Broadband

I just purchased an new Wireless Broadband(business) 500GB plan and after delivery of the SIM card, have been told that I can only use this service with a Netgear AC800 or Huawei B818... both Optus modems surprisingly.... Is this true?

I am attempting to use an Asus AC53U, have set the APN to yesbusiness, etc etc. anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Re: Modems for Wireless Broadband

This is correct. Product CIS states that it should be only used int he supplied device - or for BYO that its only used in an eligible device. List of devices below.
This is one of the tick boxes the sales person MUST confirm, so obviously they are not bothering checking with this as we have had a few of these posts lately.

Thanks for your response!

The sales person definitely DID NOT ask me about my modem or provide me a compatibility list.

Shameful

Re: Modems for Wireless Broadband

The B818 is a much better device then most other 4g routers, any reason why you did not want to use it?
