Is there a difference between antenna port 1 and 2 on the MF289D modem. When I plug one of my yagis into Port 1 I get -140dB (unusable) but when I plug it into Port 2 it get -111dB which is just ok for my area. Ideally I'd like to plug two antennas in to get it up to 3 bars of reception however is this a fault or are the ports made for different antenna types?
@JacxsyGood luck with Optus support even knowing what dBA means.....or even worse what is a good or bad signal. Last year I was getting 4G modem support with an Optus support person who did not even know what a mobile band was.....
I would head over to https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/ and ask on the Optus forum as there are way more technical people on whirlpool than on yes crowd for antenna usage/type/setup and optimization.
@Jacxsy Is there any setting in the interface to change the type of Antenna?
I went to the ZTE Australia website and the link to the manual for this product is for a Telstra modem Telstra sells. https://ztemobiles.com.au/optus-mf289d/
As AndS posted Whirlpool might be your best hope.
