I'm about to receive the Netgear AC800S modem. Test show I have 3 sometimes 4 bars, so I want to improve coverage with an external antenna.
I've been reading (here and elsewhere) that Optus has hobbled the AC800S to not work with an antenna (not the cradle though).
Apparently battery life was more important than reception!
Anyone shed any light on this?
cheers
Mike
I did some reading on that modem a few weeks ago and I am not aware of any aspects of that modem being hobbled. The Netgear specs page says the unit has 2 functioning antenna ports and works with compatible cradles.
