Re: Internet attrocious at night.

Thends
I am experiencing the same issues in Concord NSW. I called Optus cable support who indicated that there is congestion with a significant number of users on the network in the area. They said they are working on a fix due in the next 4 weeks...

And when they do reply, they tell you to give their service guys a call!

Re: Internet attrocious at night.

Just called Optus' 24/7 number.  I told him the problem was widespread.  I was told there was 'congestion' in 'my area' and that they know about it and are taking steps to fix it and it will be fixed in a month.  They always say it will be fixed in a month.  He offerred me a rebate.  I said I didn't want a cheap poor quality service, I wanted what they offerred.

Re: Internet attrocious at night.

Yep, they offered me a rebate for this month AND NEXT MONTH, which doesn't bode well for this problem being solved anytime soon.

I just hope that the netflix users are getting as fed up as we are. Maybe then when they have thousands of THEM complaining they might sit up and acknowledge their f*ck-up.

Hi Guys

Can definitely confirm we reply to all threads where we deem it necessary. Without your account information or a fault reference number we are unable to confirm if you're affected by congestion or if there is a Network outage or a fault with your service. I'd suggest giving our tech support team a buzz on 131344 so they can go through some trouble shooting and log a fault if required.

my account name is <removed for privacy>. Im at pymble, 2073
Why do you need account information or a fault reference?
The problem has nothing to do with my physical connection. by looking AT ALL MY LOGS, i am getting below 10ms to the node, then it goes to 250ms+.
There are so many threads right now about how the connection is bad, and its because the infrastructure cant handle it.
Why should I call up, only for the Tech support, to deem my connection fine because I have internet access. yay.....
When Ive posted the details of exactly what is going on.
This issue isnt even to do with my node or area, its Optus infrastructure which cannot handle the new clientel with Netflix. Not to mention, this issue only comes up at peek time, so If I call up now during the day, it will look all fine and dandy.
