Incredibly high latency on Optus Network

 

From 'prime time' viewing time earlier this evening and continuing I am getting really high latency and rubbish performance on the Optus Home Mobile Broadband network here in Surry Hills/Haymarket.  Meanwhile a similar test on the direct Optus 4g Mobile Network from my phone is fine with a low ping and decent speed.

 

It has severly impacted my ability to work or stream tonight and even your Yes Crowd website wouldn't render properly so I have had to jump onto my mobile's HotSpot to submit this <just terrible>.

 

And don't try and hang it on my home network ... the below shows there is no problem there at all.

Is this acceptable performance I should be expected to pay for?

 

By comparison here is the speedtest on the same Optus 4G network just from a Mobile Phone.  Clearly there are congestion issues that are not being adequately allocated for in terms of capacity.

Surprise, surprise, come the mignight hour when everyone stops Netflix streaming and goes to bed some semblence of network performance returns (mind you I still needed to use my mobile hotspot to post this as the page wouldn't properly render with all the proper editing functions using the Optus Mobile Broadband network. #notgoodenoughreally #whyismobilebroadbandsecondclasscitizentomobile4g #rigged

My business is recently having same issue with accessing our email client (Dreamhost based in USA) through ALL our Optus connections - NBN FTTC and ALL mobiles. The problem is manifesting in that we struggle to send attachments with emails (even 2MB), and if we go to webmail we're lucky to upload an attachment before it trips.
Speed tests through speedtest.net are all good.
I have tested multiple devices and multiple connections and all the same problem, but only with Optus.
However, if I use another ISP, such as Telstra, no problem.
Dreamhost has investigated and said the issue is with "Singtel in Singapore" (which is interesting that Dreamhost discovered this as Singtel is Optus's parent company and I did not divulge my ISP details to Dreamhost).
So far, Optus has said it must be my network and have directed me to 3rd party where to start talking I need to provide credit card details for upfront non-refundable starting charge of $90. Not happy Optus!
We've been with Optus for a number of years and with Dreamhost for many more, without such issue until very recently.
I would appreciate some suggestions.
