I have a Huawei B818 modem that looses connection to the network every day.
Every day in order to use the internet I have to reset the modem.
From all appearances I get a reasonable signal strength.
Two thoughts come to mind.
1. Use external antenna so that signal is maintained at 4G. I am wondering if I loose network connection due to dropping down to 3G at some stage..
2. SIM reburn. This was Optus support first go to option.
Has anyone else had a similar issue with the Huawei B818
Solved! Solved: Go to Solution.
Figures look okay. You are on the 700 mhz frequency.
Use the link in my previous post to locate your closest tower and what frequencies are available on the tower.
Do you know what frequencies are available at the tower you are connecting to?
If you do not go to https://www.rfnsa.com.au/?first=1 enter the postcode and then the use the filters to search for Optus and 4G, 4G+
Log into the B818 click on Network Settings, Mobile Network, Mobile Network Searching and have options as per image
I am also having the same issue.. did changing it to 4g only work for you? If so, what were other alternative solutions or are you still experiencing the same issue?
