Home Mobile Broadband - April, 2020 - Speeds very low, often only 2 Mb/sec - Macedon Ranges Vic

Why are our speeds for Mobile Home Broadband (using a Huawei B525 modem) consistently showing a substandard speed of 2 Mb/s? This is the same as a very weak ADSL connection that only gets 2 Mb/s , which is the reason we switched to Optus Mobile Broadband in our home. 
We understand with the current COVID-19 pandemic there are more users but surely speeds of around 2 Mb/s during many tests during the day and night are way below a usable service.
We have tried all troubleshooting options with no success.
Please provide a "real" reply, not a standard "formulated" response so we can use the service properly.

There is no reported outages on the Optus Network Status Page.

Have you made any plan changes recently that coincide with the poor performance? 

e.g, changed to less or more data.

I am an Optus subscriber, just trying to help.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. We have not made any changes to our plan. We regularly check the Optus Network Status page and have also noted no outages. Hopefully, an Optus Team Member will reply at some point. We also wonder if wet weather affects the speeds we get in addition to increased volume of people working from home during the coronavirus situation. Other than this, we hope Optus is not "throttling" connections as this makes the service unusable. Thank you again for your reply. Hopefully, others in the Macedon Ranges may share their experience in recent times.
