Last month i received multiple alerts for access I’ve data usage. This i find extremely strange for a number of reasons. Firstly, I didn’t do anything differently from other months. Secondly, we had a power cut for 12 days during the outage so device was not in use. Third point, i called Optus to suspend the service and yet i still received alerts . lastly I was away interstate for most of the billing period and no way the device/data could have been used??
No surprise you cant get onto anyone at Optus to discuss the matter with!
Whilst I can appreciate you haven't done anything differently it may have been a system update or simply a change of one setting that made all the difference. How much data do you have and how are you monitoring it?
Yes and is this NBN, DSL or wireless? When you turn a modem off the delay in the data usage often results in those excess data messages coming through at a later stage. Naturally it makes people think the modem is still using data when its off.
