Dropped reception on AC800s when using Netgear Smart Cradle

I have an AC800s which works brilliantly by itself, 4 bar reception and DL speeds averaging 80-100mb/s.

 

When docked in the DC112a smart cradle the reception drops to 1 bar (exact same location) and speeds to 1-2mb/s. Firmware on both devices are up to date.

 

Has anyone had/fixed this issue or is it a faulty cradle?
