DNS Server for Sagemcom FAST5366TN-A

Hi,

I recently just got Nbn with Optus, worst transition in the world but oh well i guess, im currently going through dns settings and it wont allow me to toggle my own dns because our internet is reading 45 mbs but it can barely load anything at times with those speed.

Wanted to give changing the dns servers a shot also for parental purposes but nothings works its very locked down this modem.

Optus have confirmed that they are working on fixing static DNS, in the mean time you will have to make the DNS changes on the connected devices themselves rather then the in router.

What version of the firmware do you have? The last one I tested was SG4Y1T000085.

Unsure what is meant by "Static IP" in this context.

There's having a static IP WAN address and then there's the ability to change the DNS servers.

In this case I think the OP is referring to the latter.

Don't hold your breath on Optus coming to the party.  Check posts back to 2015 here and on Whirlpool. Even when people have found ways to do this, Optus have come along and blocked it again.

Instead of My Optus they should call it "Our Optus and you do what we tell you, not what you need".

Hey Optus, how about letting your Customers make their own decisions about whether they block porn from their kids' computers or not. It's not up to you!!!!

Its the ability to define the Primary and Secondary DNS server IP addresses in the modem, and not have them auto-configured by Optus' upstream servers or remote Optus config.
