Cant send email through microsoft outlook

When I try to send a message from Microsoft outlook, I get an error saying that the message cant be sent because of "client host rejected auto blocked due to password attack", although the application (outlook) does successfully log onto the server.

I have disabled my firewalls etc but no luck. I have also tried from several PCs.

I can receive emails into outlook from Optus .

I have changed my password in the webmail settings on the Optus webmail page.

I can also log onto webmail using the same credentials

Re: Cant send email through microsoft outlook

Are you connected to the Optus network or are you using another provider?
Do you use IMAP or POP for your Optus Email account?

There have been several reports of users having trouble with Microsoft Email Programs and Optus accounts over the last few days

Re: Cant send email through microsoft outlook

Is this a bounce message from the one email address you are trying to send or does this happen to every email you send?
