I have a cable internet connection at Padstow Heights NSW and for the last month the speed of the service has been very slow particularly during the afternoons and evening. (less than 10mbps). Considering we have the optional speed pack enabled I am very disappointed that we do not get what we pay for.
Anyone else in the area experiencing similar issues?
If by "your area" you mean Australia then yes, the issue appears fairly widespread.
Unfortunately you're not due to getting the NBN for another 18 months (FTTC though, so when you get it, it should be good)
The Optus HFC network is due to be junked shortly. Optus are possibly not spending as much on maitenance. Also many households are now streaming and downloading much more than even a year ago (and optus with its unlimited plans and emphasis on FetchTV streaming is more suseptible than others)
I'm not sure there's much you can do (esp. as it appears to be congestion in your area which Optus can't solve without spending a lot on a network they no longer own)
Hi @JimboS, thanks for reaching out to us as I can understand your concern in regards to the slow internet speeds. With regards to speed it depends on various factors.I would suggest to try some basic troubleshooting first and see how you go. Also do some speed test here and take a screenshot as a reference. If the issue still exists then raise it with Tech Support on 131344 (open 24x7) to investigate further.
