Cable at the back of house

I've had Optus cable for about 14 years (with a brief period of ADSL for a couple of years in that time). I've just moved house and there is no Optus cable on the street out the front of the new house (i.e. the street where my post box is). There is however Optus cable on the street behind me – the house backs on to this street also.

 

If my house address was on this back street then I could get cable.

 

I cannot get anyone from Optus to consider the possibility of bringing the cable connection off the street at the back (even though it's closer to the house than if it was at the front). Everyone I spesak to says my address is unserviceable so they can't/won't even consider sending a technician out.

 

Anyone got any ideas how I could convince Optus to send someone out to look at this – I really don't want to go with Telstra.

Hey there,
One of the basic rules for getting cable is: your house must have 'street frontage'. I'd be happy to run this situation by our serviceability specialists though. Just need your details. If somehow you could include a picture, we need to be able to see what it looks like from the street to the back of your house. We'll only connect the cable to an external wall so if it did go ahead, the modem may be at the back of your house.
