It seems we all understand all the issues. It just takes Optus to decide to do something about it.
Now that Telstra has publicly announced an end date for their 3G network, perhaps Optus will follow suit. That may encourage Optus to include in that plan addressing this deficiency (since otherwise customers affected by this will be stuffed).
For me at the moment, this problem is on the backburner. Bigger fish to fry.
The problem is the lack of support for this on the 4G network. (The secondary problem is the 4G dongles themselves.)
If that has changed, please advise.
I am a business. I have a working 3G dongle with public static IP. I want to migrate to 4G.
I am not 100% sure about Optus' take on it. However, if you go to https://www.zetta.net.au/services/internet/mobile-broadband/
they advertise to use Optus 4G Network for their Service with a Static Public WAN IP Address.
Getting a 4G device that will not NAT is another issue. I have access to e3372 in a Stick mode. They work fine with ZettaNet (Optus) SIMs. Let me know if you need assistance.
I just got this done today. Optus Business Centre Perth did it for me.
Using 4G and the yesbusinessip APN, getting a static IP 124.19.xx.xxx
PS im using a E3276s-601
