I've just run a Trend Micro House Call scan that has showed up a ARRIS Router on my network at home with an IP address of 192.168.0.2.
It's not mine.

Do you have NBN via HFC/Cable?
If so - This is what NBN uses
"Under the deal, Arris will supply us with the all-important Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS)"

I do have NBN via FTP then standard copper from the frame in the basement.
Don't remember any hardware being installed there and none in my unit besides the standard Optus modem.

Sounds like you have Fibre to the basement aka FTTB - not sure who makes this equipment for NBN
Arris (the company) also makes this equipment - but without going to have a look in the basement it will be hard to work out what is installed.

There was no hardware installed in the basement and none installed in my unit.
So how does hardware show up in home network without actually being here?
BTW paying for speed boost is a waste of money. Can't wait to cancel.
