Want to use your own modem on your Optus DSL connection? These are the things that you might need to consider so you can get the most out of your service.
For BYO supplied modem users, Optus Broadband Customer Support is limited to assistance with your account; online services (such as email & my account) and your ADSL connection, for specific information and support about the features of your BYO modem please refer to the manual that came with your selected device.
You must plug your Optus supplied modem in first to activate your new ADSL connection, as your Modem has your broadband connection details already programmed into it.
Once your service is activated and working, then you can swap the connection over to your own device. However unlike the Optus modem you will need to manually enter in your Optus login details. Refer to your BYO modem manual for how to do this
FYI: your login details are in your welcome email when you signed up and will be an "Optusnet" email address e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org
