So in the excitement to the lead-up to the release of the of the new iPhone 6S, I like many others logged on at 5:00pm Saturday afternoon to pre-order my 2 new phones. Upgrading existing accounts that I have had with Optus for around 10 years. Everything went smoothly, I got to the end of the order, and they gave me a temporary order number and let me know that I would be contacted in 2-3 days to confirm my order, I even got an email from Optus saying the same thing.

Now I am a very tech-savy person, and I like to have the latest and greatest gadgets. Tech-savy and impatient. So today, (Thursday, 5 days after I placed my orders) I got concerned that I hadn't received confirmation of my order. So I went to the internet, and chatted with someone on the internet about my order. They were unable to see my order. They then called me, and put me through to the internet orders department to see if they can help me.

While speaking to the person from the internet department, I gave them my temporary order numbers, "sorry, but that isn't coming up" they then asked for the phone numbers I was upgrading "sorry, but nothing is coming up". So i ask, "what does this mean?", apparently it means that the 2 orders I placed have been lost/misplaced/never registered with Optus. So i ask "so what can be done about this?", and I was told nothing, and that there was no record of my order.

Now the phone that I was ordering has been fully allocated, and I am left here wondering why, even with evidence that Optus received my order am I being told that despite being on the the first to order my phones, people that order 3 and 4 days after me will get getting a phone before me.

What a way to treat a customer that has been loyal for near 10 years

Be wary people, call Optus, ensure that your order has been received. Don't miss out, like it looks like I will be.

Sounds like something has gone wrong after the order was submitted Smiley Sad

This is the first instance of this that I have heard and would love to see if there's anything we can do. Do you have the temporary order number handy so we can take a look?

I ordered a 6s 64GB today on $88 a month plan less $10 for broadband - therefore $78.

On the email I received, the paper work says $101 month, it doesn't include the $23 device credit that was included when I ordered #48805447.  Is this paper work in error?

Hey snowbell, thanks for posting! The rate plan details would only be generalised for the plan, not displaying any handset credit (depending on device and rate plan chosen). I've had a look and the credits are being applied monthly to your service reducing the monthly amount  Smiley Happy
