Signed up last week to Optus (Wednesday I beleive) after more than 15 years with Vodafone - yes for the EPL. 

 

Nearly a week later I'm still getting the dreaded "We couldn't find a service that matched the credentials you provided, please check the input and try again." at this page https://offer.optus.com.au/order-epl .

 

What steps do I need to go through to get confirmation fo EPL? When I purchased the new plan it asked me then about EPL, but I never recevied an email or SMS regarding EPL at all.

 

Help appreciated. Cheers.

Been with Optus 20+ years, currently on $90 phone+broadband+fetch plan but also getting the dreaded "We couldn't find a service that matched the credentials you provided, please check the input and try again." at this page https://offer.optus.com.au/order-epl .

I can't be on the phone for hours on hold to register where I work, when will the online registration be fixed Optus?

I've been doing a lot of research out there and can finaly feel better about knowing that Optus will not be using Bein server software for EPL streaming, so that's a start.

 

During my searching I've noticed lots of promises from Optus, here's one example...

 

I can say is we've tested our stream really thoroughly in heaps of different scenarios and it's working beautifully. Get set for an awesome EPL experience - Tris

 

So here's your answer Optus... If you are this confident about your delivery, why not offer new customers the option to quit their contract anytime within 3 months of the EPL starting? This way people like me may take the plunge knowing that there is a safety net. At the end of the day it's up to you to put your money where your mouth is, and this is the only way I can see you attracting the 2 million customers out there sitting on the fence.

 

Since that is your profit margin, and you are so confident, surely you would have no problems in offering this?

@vince @mikezone13 inbox the Optus Facebook page. Can take up to 24 hours for a response usually, but those guys are really really helpful. Just inbox them with all your personal account details and what you need doing and they will usually fix it. Works a treat for me, as the 24/7 chat is painful at times, and I can never be bothered waiting on the phone.

 

They occasionally help out on these blogs, but the Facebook page seems to be the best point of contact. 👍🏻

That's an offer at least, but at $67 minimum, and $5 more for a fetch mini to get it on my TV, I find that excessive for EPL.

 

Let's not forget EPL is only played for 38 weeks a year, which leaves 14 weeks where I am paying for nothing. That takes my monthly cost for EPL to nearly $100 a month.

@flippinheck I agree the cost value isn't there if your not willing to switch mobiles to Optus, or get rid of Foxtel for the Fetch service. Adding Optus to existing contracts won't save money, switching providers is where benefits will be reaped by the consumers wallet.

 

$67 is with a full phone plan.

 

You can get the SIM only plan for $35 month-to-month + $5 Fetch Mini. That's no lock in, cancel anytime, regardless of service quality complaints or ending of EPL season. If you sign up for 12 months the costs goes from $35 down to $30. 

 

The SIM doesn't have to be used, chuck it the back of a cupboard if your unable to use it. The Fetch Mini will work with any broadband connection, wired or wireless. Just have to be an Optus customer to get it.

 

Again, the value isn't there if you use that option but it's better than the $67+ option. I agree if you can't/won't change provider, then it is an excessive price to view just EPL. The true value is there if your willing to change mobile network provider or home broadband provider or Pay TV provider.

I just got the same mesg & the link doesn't work either, been chatting to two different Optus reps on Live Chat & they have no idea what the mesg is even for, they keep saying i'm already signed up.

I was told at the Optus yes shop that because I am on a $115 home broadband plan they would send me a settopbox for Fetch TV no problems "just call Optus" I have already registered for EPL when i went into the yes store, to inquire what next on my broadband link ? this blog says "No. We are offering Optus Premier League on multiple platforms and devices. We recommend Optus home broadband with Yes TV by Fetch for watching Premier League on TV." I then had to spend over and hour and a half trying to extract a STB out of Optus, over several different calls ..... they all wanted me to sign up to a new plan. It was more painful than extracing teeth

@TLZ No news on these platforms just yet sorry. Also, all games will be broadcast in HD, your internet connection will determine the quality you watch it in though.

Can we get a swift update on the Optus Satellite Broadcast option for residential customers please.

Its July and we were told we can order this (obviously once we are eligible customers) once it indeed is July! Landlord/Body corporate have both given me the approval and there are no available Optus nodes in the area.

@Dave Thanks for the responses mate.  But please try and pass forward the message of making the app available on Xbox One/PS4.  I use my Xbox One as an STB and that's where I watch TV through the tuner.

No current news about the Satellite option for residential customers. We're working hard to have it all ready to take orders very soon and there will be an announcement once it becomes available. Not all customers will be eligible and it really depends on your specific circumstance. Keep an eye on our website and here in Yes Crowd for news once it's released.

I solved the "We couldn't find a service that matched the credentials you provided, please check the input and try again." by getting onto the online chat. From what I've heard it's hit and miss as to whether you can someone who can sort it out for you, I was lucky and got it dorted within 5 minutes.

Folks and fans, the app is now ready to download for iOS on the App Store. Search "Optus Sport". Obviously can't view the actual video content as it is locked until we all get our login information, anyone got there's yet?

 

Looks like a pretty slick app, well designed, easy to navigate. On demand video content looks the goods too! Full season reviews for previous years, classic matches and legends interviews.

I've been an Optus customer for many years, have broadband, home phone and TV.......my situation is that I have Foxtel on Optus TV (literally Foxtel but through Optus), they have cannabilised that (ok, it's foxtel!), but then I don't qualify for getting EPL (for free), even though I fork out close to $200/mth as an Optus customer!!!  Yeah, I'm not likely to be happy with that!

The salt in the wound is Optus Customer Service is crap - they just prattle off the sales pitch saying I don't qualify (you don't say!!!), blah, blah. Even had trouble getting them to put in a complaint! Phoned one of their competitors - ahhh, what Optus used to be, friendly, helpful, knowledgable operator, serviced locally!!! Try and guess which one!

So, having been a loyal Optus customer since the get-go (for those who can remember that far back!), always declining out-of-hand other Telco soliciting because I WAS a happy customer, I am now looking at moving it all!!!  Even if I have to pay more and I don't get EPL.....haha, go figure!!  Way to go Optus....cheese off loyal customers, let's see how loyal the new ones are....you will have to do a lot better to keep those ones!!  Marketing one-o-one I would have thought!

Not too far off @thekayle! All the new stuff has been loaded in the background, once it's ready to go it will just appear in the EPG. You won't need to do anything on your end. Hang tight

Any EPL content usage is un-metered regardless of the connection type @MarkScarfe1972. Advertisements, analytics and authentication is metered, the amounts of data used for this sort of thing will be minimal though

You gave some wonderful information to me and others here right at the beginning of this thread but since then there's still been no movement. Had the approval from my landlord/body corporate and no available Optus nodes for hardline broadband in the area so I know I'm eligible. Please please please I'm going mad for this 🍺

@JMess, you'd just need to head over to Optus Sport to order. EPL streaming is un-metered regardless if you're eligible for free EPL access or not. In most cases existing customers will have free access the coming season, the page will confirm if any charges though

 

@Dun, all will be revealed really soon. With anyone ordering satellite access before the season start, we'll try our best to ensure the installation has been completed before the first kick off Smiley Happy

 

@mc_avs1 Definitely an Android app, I'm using it myself Smiley Very Happy Head over to the Play Store to grab it, then over to Optus Sport to register a profile and grab log in details

@Jamesk811, well, I got that phone 3.5 years ago and it's still working perfectly fine.  I'm not one to buy the 'greatest and latest' just because... And they've been forgetting us for 3.5 years.. even if the one app is universal and will work across phone, tablet, computers... I guess I'll just keep campaigning till my vote counts..

@taidenn no one said anything about the "latest and greatest". You can always get an old Samsung or iPhone eg iPhone 5 which still is supported by the required operating system to run the EPL app... I think you will be waiting a long time for a WP EPL app

@TLZ, the Xbox One will be a universal app too.. so, unless they make one for Windows, you won't get the app for the Xbox... @Tris, yes, so it's one app across Xbox, Computers, Tablets and Phones... at least, that's what Microsoft have been saying.

A quote from BusinessInsider: 'The sales pitch for consumers is simple: If you buy an app from the Windows Store, it will work exactly the same way on your phone, tablet, computer, and eventually, the Xbox One video game console — because it’s literally the same program on every platform.'

@Optus please HELP. When I've gone to sign up and create my details, in my overzealousness I think I've put the wrong email address in. You can only put it in once, and there's no confirmation, didn't really check.

 

Now I can't find a way to reset the subscription or anything without entering email address, which I original entered wrong. So I don't know exactly what I typed 😭

How's the Season Review! Far out its making me excited for the August!

 

Crystal clear and in HD for me on a big screen, tried it on an iPad aswell. The apps are clean, work properly and didn't appear buggy which is great news straight off the bat. Both FetchTv channel and iOS apps were super quick to load the stream, then that couple of seconds when it adjusts the stream to HD was very quick and seemless, that to me says there's some pretty good gear behind the setup Optus have.

 

You guys find the catch up/on-demand app on the FetchTV? Or how you access it? Can't find it 👎🏻

@TLZ there will be up to 10 sub channels when there's multiple matches. So just a matter of changing channels rather than what you'd mentioned

Sorry to bypass you Tris, but just checking if anyone else has had the same issue....

 

registed all 3 of my services seperatly.

- mobile 

- home broadband 

- mobile broadband

 

mobile broadband and home broadband, no issue confining and logging into apps etc.

 

but mobile won't allow me to login, just says username doesn't excist. When I go back into subscribe, it says I've already done it. Didn't receive confirmation email to actually confirm details. 

 

There is also no troubleshooting for this, and to reset account password you need to enter email address. But of coarse, it doesn't recognise this.

I recently signed up for the EPL as an existing Optus mobile customer. I never actually recieved the confirmation email and therefore can't access my account or create a enw one. Any way to rectify this?

Just found 10 new channels (980-989) on my Fetch TV and watching a classic EPL match on Channel 980 - great quality and colour. Also just downloaded the new Optus Sports app onto my Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S and everything works great.

I am on the $115 B&B plan and have registered to receive the EPL. Today I received FOUR emails confirming the registration.  Three say it's free but one advised I'll be debited $15 pm commencing 31/07/2016.  I now have to call a 13 number to sort it out. Not impressed.

Xbox One Microsoft Edge 'Playback error; reload the stream and try again.' Press retry button and same thing pops up.

 

 

Microsoft Lumia 950 Windows 10 just a black screen no audio, nothing when signed in to watch any of the highlights, shows and news plus a release of a Universal Windows App.

@SW91 Logins are going out today, if you've not received it yet, you can bypass this step and jump onto Optus Sport to create a profile and set up a password if you like

@Johnny_Utah Should be! We're only providing app support for Gen 4, if you're using older hardware, AirPlay is the way to go 

 

@MarkScarfe1972, there won't be a charge, sorry for the confusion caused, Optus Sport went live yesterday, have you had a look?

 

Not 100% sure what you're trying to do @MickeyLou, at this stage we're only supporting Yes TV by Fetch, iOS, Apple TV and Android. No Windows Phone or Xbox One. We do plan to add more media streaming devices/smart TVs to the list, this will occur sometime after the season has started though

@Tris he/she is trying to access Optus sport through the Xbox one and lumia phone's browser but it's not working too which is odd.

Please add a PS4 app as I use mine as my set top box. I understand this might not be ready for the start of the season but would like to heat that this is in the plan as Im sure there are quite a few out there who do not have a fetch box.

What TV's does support for Optus Sport? I have a 2015 SUHD 65JS8000 TV, would be great if it was available as an App for Tizen.

@Tris, from your post earlier, does that mean that we'll get our login details through email during the day?  I have tried logging in to the website yesterday but it wouldn't recognise my email or username.
