You’ve been using Android for a long time and have decided to make the big switch across to iOS. Perhaps you just got your hands on the latest iPhone? Here is our quick guide to help you make the smooth transfer across to start enjoying your Apple device.
As you set up your new iOS device, look for the Apps & Data screen. Then tap Move Data from Android.
On your Android device, download and open the Move to iOS app and tap Continue. Read and agree to the T&Cs to continue. Then tap Next in the top right-hand corner of the Find Your Code screen.
On your iOS device, tap Continue on the Move from Android screen. Then wait for the code to appear and enter the code on your Android device. Then wait for the Transfer Data screen to appear.
On your Android device, select what you want to transfer and tap Next. Sit back and allow both devices to do their thing until the loading bar that appears on your iOS device has completed. It may take some time, depending on how much stuff you're moving.
What gets transferred? Head to the Apple support page for the full list.
After the loading bar has finished on your iOS device, tap Done on your Android device. Then tap Continue on your iOS device and follow the on-screen steps to finish the setup process for your iOS device.
Make sure all of your content has been transferred. Other file types not mentioned above need to be moved over manually.
Need to get the apps that were on your Android device? Go to the App Store on your iOS device to download them.
If for some reason things didn’t go too smoothly, head straight to Apple’s website for further advice, troubleshooting steps and to contact Apple Support if needed.
