If you sent your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge in for repair between 21/2/2017 and 03/03/2017, your handset may have had incorrect software installed before it was sent back to you.
If your handset is impacted by the installation of incorrect software:
- You will not receive messages from Optus or Samsung informing you that the phone’s software is ready to be updated
- You will not be able to update the phone’s software and this may affect the handset’s performance
- VoLTE (making calls over the internet) will not work
- The keypad will have predictive text set as a default
You can check whether your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge has been impacted by opening the phone and heading to:
Settings > About Phone > Software Info
If your handset has G93xxxxxxxxBD software installed, you will need to return it as soon as possible to your nearest Optus store for a replacement or visit a Samsung Smart kiosk where their team can update the software for you while you wait.
Samsung apologises for any inconvenience this has caused and if you have any questions, please contact our support team here.
