Our software updates team have identified an issue with the latest software update (7.0 Nougat) for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets. Some customers are receiving the error message “IMS Service has Stopped” intermittently after installing the update.
Our engineers are working closely with Samsung to rectify the situation and in the meantime, Samsung have suspended the software update so no further handsets will be affected.
For those who are affected, you can resolve the issue by switching Voice over LTE (VoLTE) on which provides additional benefits including faster call connection times compared to 3G, and be able to talk and browse at the same time using 4G. For more information on VoLTE and instructions on how to switch it on, please refer to optus.com.au/volte-support
