As we continue to build a network that’s fit for the future, occasionally we have to say goodbye to older technologies and products. As you have an Optus Dial Up Internet Service with us, we’re getting in touch to let you know that it will be closing from 9 July 2018.  

 

Below you'll find a selection of FAQs outlining what will happen next:

 

Why is Optus Dial Up Internet closing?

 

Optus Dial Up Internet Service was a product which we launched many years ago and has was an option for customers in areas outside of traditional fixed-line broadband networks.

 

We’re committed to managing the closure of Optus Dial Up Internet product so that you’re supported in finding an alternative product that meets your needs.

 

What do I need to do to change to another Broadband Internet Service with Optus?

 

If your area is serviceable for another Optus broadband product, you can stay on the Optus network. You can check whether your premises are serviceable by either:

  • Visiting com.au/broadband;
  • Visiting your local Yes Optus store;
  • Or calling us on 133 937

 

We will give you a $10 discount off your monthly broadband access fee for 6 months when you have activated your new Optus Broadband. Please contact us on 1300 133 643 so we can apply your offer and at the same time we can transfer your OptusNet email.

 

Can I keep my email address and/or webspace?

 

Yes, you can.  You will need to have an active Optus Broadband service to transfer them to.  If you already have an Optus Broadband service please contact us on

1300 133 643 as soon as possible to arrange the transfer.

 

If you don’t have a service yet, you can connect to a new Optus Broadband service by either:

 

  • Visiting optus.com.au/broadband;
  • Visiting your local Yes Optus store;
  • Or calling us on 133 937

  

What if I don’t need the service or email address and/or webspace anymore?

 

You don’t need to do anything. If you no longer need your Optus Dial Up Internet Service or the associated email and/or webspace) it will be cancelled from 9 July 2018.

 

 

What will happen to my service(s) after 9 July 2018?

 

From 9 July 2018, your Optus Dial Up Internet Service will be closed. You will not be able to use this service after this date.

 

If you are unable to take action prior to 9 July 2018, but wish to retain your internet access, email addresses or webspace, please contact as soon as you can on  1300 133 643 so we can assist you.
