My Optus App

I’m always surprised to see how many of my friends don’t have the app provided by their service provider (or any app for that matter) to help with the everyday use of the mobile handset. Whether you’re a pre-paid or post-paid customer, the My Optus app is a must have for all iOS and Android handset users on the Optus network and here’s why.

Monitoring your usage: With the way handsets and the technology associated with them is evolving, it’s so important to keep on top of your calls, texts and data. The My Optus App gives you a great snap shot view of where you’re at for the month and how long you have until your billing cycle restarts.

Recharge your credit: If you’re a pre-paid customer there’s nothing more frustrating than running out of credit when you need it most. With the My Optus App you can monitor your usage as well as having the option to recharge using PayPal, credit cards or vouchers to keep you topped up all the time.

Pay your bill: Using the My Optus app to pay your bill couldn’t be easier and the convenience is great! Simply log in and select the option to pay your latest bill.

Access Live Chat: This is a big one. Live Chat can be accessed through the My Optus App to put you in touch with our customer service team for any help you may need.

The My Optus App is available to download for both Android and iOS devices via the below links.

At Optus we know it’s important to keep innovating so we continuously update the app to improve functionality and fix any bugs that might pop up. Keep an eye on this blog for the latest information on our recent updates.

App is good, but when you use it like I did to take up my early phone and plan upgrade it take awhile.

did my upgrade last Friday just gone and only so far received a receipt number for my order..

if I had done this via the website and I'll prob have a tracking number straight away to check on my upgrade !!!!

@Roinoldi Great feedback, I'll pass it along to the team. We've got a lot of improvements in the works at the moment 🙂

@meelee if you access optus.com.au/myaccount I believe you'll find the information you're after on your laptop. Or were you wanting to be able to view information for the broadband service you use on your laptop through another device? e.g. check your home broadband usage on a mobile app

@MattJ No just though my account will do, but it just keeps on redirecting me over and over to no where?

ok if that's the case @meelee you'd be best to call our customer service team on 133937 so they can figure out what's happening there

The app is also downloadable for BlackBerry 10 devices.  Those who have sideloaded Snap or Google Play are able to download and use the app just as Android users would.  Works flawlessly!

I'm running the app on my BlackBerry Z10 and so far it's working quite well.

Can be a little slow, but others it's pretty good.

I love that BlackBerry now has the Android runtime so us BlackBerry owners can run a lot of Android app.

Us BlackBerry owners feel shafted because of the lack of support by many.

Us Australian BlackBerry owners particularly feel shafted by Optus as Optus is the official BlackBerry Passport retailer, yet when we try and buy one the Optus shove try and sell us something else. Some have even been told Optus don't sell BlackBerry phones, even though they have some out back.

If Optus don't want us to buy BlackBerry, then why not let someone else sell BlackBerry phones.

That is not what my Optus app does! It wants you to pay a specific way and not by using my commonwealth bank app! Why the hell not?  I have been trying to get you people to set it up so I can see my bill and then pay it online in my banking app. Well you would think that I am asking Pythagorus about the coefficient of the linear expansion of water for pete's sake. I tried to get a "representative" on chat to help me but he pretended that he could not understand me! Why will you not do this? And if you wont do this why wont you? it makes no sense! I am not going to use the payment system you want me to if I have to leave Optus because you guys wont process a bill in my app then I will. You people are operating in the dark ages.

So I take it then that there is nobody on this site that can shed a little light on my situation then?

So I take it then that there is nobody on this site that can shed a little light on my situation then? Four months I have been trying unsuccessfully to get this done. Very sorry to have chosen Optus...won't happen again!

Hey there @qqqqqqqqqqqqqqq - please keep in mind that while our forum is a great way for users to share their experiences and help each other out, it's unfortunately not a live chat service. If you'd prefer to chat with someone via instant messaging our Chat team are available here.

I'm sorry if we've not been able to shed light on this for you 😞 As your banking app utilises it's own interface and isn't compatible with our billing system, we're unable to incorporate your bill into your bank's app. You're more than welcome to take advantage of payment methods outside of the Optus app. To view the PDF of your bill, head to the billing section of the app and scroll down to the bill you'd like to view. On the right hand side, select "Download PDF". From here you can check the outstanding amount and payment details such as BPay info, which you can then utilise your banking app for.
