Nestled between the sandstone cliffs in an old warehouse on Cockatoo Island, fans were treated to a rare intimate gig by GRAMMY award-winning artist, Lorde, presented by Optus and Nova’s Red Room.
Performing tracks from her hypnotising new album Melodrama, the 20-year-old star cut an ethereal figure on stage, wearing a purple-y silver sequined jumpsuit and sneakers that contrasted beautifully with the industrial setting of the performance.
Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, enchanted us with a set-list comprised of new songs from Melodrama including Homemade Dynamite and Perfect Places as well as classic hits Royals and Ribs from her 2013 debut album Pure Heroine. She closed the show with an energetic performance of the spectacular European-summer anthem Green Light, whilst a crowd of adoring fans sang along to every word.
